Blech

Today I feel like crap. Kathy and I have started working out twice a day (yeah we are total freaks). I totally love it. I feel so good and I don't even think about it any more. I just do it. Well last week at WW I gained a pound. WTH?? I chalked that up to not tracking. Swore I would get my butt back in gear and put my nose down, and I did. I have tracked every bite, even pre-planned some of my meals. Every single day I have watched the scale climb higher and higher. Today was the last straw, the scale is now up to what I weighed THREE WEEKS AGO. How is this possible? Excuse me mister that sucker is moving the WRONG WAY! I know I shouldn't be on the damn thing every day, but its in the bathroom. It SCREAMS my name. I promised myself I wouldn't go near it until weigh in, but of course my stupid ass had to step on it this morning. So I cried all the way home from Curves at 6:00 am this morning. Blech.

Today is Micheal's 13th Birthday. Yup, I am officially a mother of TWO teenagers. That scares the bejeebers outta me I tell you. Let me just give you a peek into who my son is. Last week we told him we would take him any where he wanted for his birthday dinner. I joked and said I just know you will want Sushi tho. (he doesn't care for it much) He laughed and said Noooo. And that was the end of it. So this morning I rushed home to catch him before he left for school so I could tell him Happy Birthday. And I asked him where he wanted to eat tonight his choice. He asked me if that place with the green pea's had other food too. I said the sushi place? He said yeah, and told him that he could get all sorts of other things, and so he said that's where I want to go, and I asked him why and he was like because that's your favorite place to eat mom. You can't see me but I am smiling ear to ear and every time I think about it, I get a lump in my throat and my eyes start to well up. I could not be prouder to be his mom.

Happy Birthday Buddy, I love you so much.

It's a Bird....It's a Plane

.....It's Super Bad Blogger. Good Lord has it been that long? Sunny Beaches. Well you all will be pleased to know that I am STILL on the right track!! I know right, previous attempts would have found me eating a Whopper with Cheese, Xtra Pickles, Xtra Mayo around week 5. (I said that like I was a pro huh). Well I am happy to report that I have NOT done that. And just wait to found out how much I have lost total. Are you ready for this? Are you sitting down. 29.4 lbs! I am so close to 30 lbs down I can almost taste it. I know I will make it this following week. I know I could not have made it as far as I have now, without Kathy. It has been so much FUN being on this journey with her. When I have a crappy day, she is there, when I have a great day, she is there. I hope that I inspire her, and carry her on her down days too. That reminds me, I finally did it. I twisted her arm until she joined Curves with me. Yippie! Now we have become freaks. We work out 6 days a week. OMG! Did I just type that, I think I did. Who would have every thought that I would go that far. I really enjoy it. I look forward to it every single day. And I even go on those days when I would rather been ANYWHERE in the world than there. I enjoy chatting with the other ladies and laughing and cutting up. It truly is a Girl Power Half Hour.

This week is close out and we have been doing the 5:30 AM session. Yeah, its official I have lost my ever loving mind. As of today I've only slept 8 of the last 72. And it's only Tuesday. For the love of biscuits!

Thursday David has to go back into the hospital for another procedure. They are going to fill his tummy with air and then go in endoscopiclly (yeah that's what it sounds like) and see what is causing his bleeding. When he spent a week in the hospital a month ago for the same think they never could find the source. It went away until yesterday. I feel so bad for him. He HATES that he is not able to do every day things that he is used too. He tightened the belts on Kayla's car last week and was in pain for 2 days. I think he feels like his man hood is slipping away from him. That has gotta suck.

This year for Thanksgiving we have decided to go 'home' and spend it with our families. We will spent half the day with David's sister and her family, then drop by mom's and see what they are going to be up too. I really missed 'family' last year. I just put in for a couple of day's vacation, I plan on cooking up a storm before we go. I want to make sure there are plenty of healthy choices for me. Anyone know how to make a fried turkey fat free? I need to figure that one out.
Okay I need to go for now. I promise to be keep this up a little better. Now that I figured out how to post from my email it should be a little easier, I can just write and click send, and it just magically shows up here. How cool is that? I still haven't taken and photos, I will try and get some this weekend, I am DYING to see a side by side so far. My work pants are falling off of me. So it's gotta be some what noticeable. I can't personally see it, but David and the kids say they do. (I don't think they really count tho).

In other news Facebook has totally taken over my life. Remember back in the day when I would say oh I don't have time for that? Well I was do freaking right, between the plowing and the cooking and running my own amusement park, I am tapped for time. (if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about..you might be lucky) If you want to add me to your Facebook by all means go ahead.
rachel.donald08@gmail.com.

Oh I almost forgot! Look what David ordered for me. Isn't it beautiful!!! My current set is one that I bought for myself. My original ring was lost in a house fire many moons ago, and I just picked this one up a few years back. But he picked his out all my himself and everything. I can't wait to put it on my finger. It means so much to me that he picked this out. After 18 years I love him more and more every single day.

Sushi, Pizza, and Toilet Paper

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you're week went by smoothly. Mine was just GREAT! Last Sunday Kayla and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Kathy and her beautiful daughter Liz. We started off the day with a sushi lunch (OMG I love that stuff), after that we went to the movies. We seen that movie All about Steve. It was pretty good, I'm not sure what was more funny, the movie itself, or the lady that was sitting behind us, she was REALLY enjoying the movie. Her laugh reminded me of Nancy. So loud and full of life. Kayla and I cracked up the whole movie. After the movie we headed to Sam's. I have been there once when I was in Indiana getting ready for a camping trip (the BEST vacation I have ever had). Wow the place is HUGE. This was Kayla's first time there and she was FREAKING out over the huge box's of candy and stuff. She would walk down the isle and say OMG I could sell this stuff! She was hooked. I think we are going to get a membership for us. They have so much MORE than food there. And there produce was really pretty and very reasonably priced.

I mentioned last time how I was just TIRED of chicken. Well I went to grab a book off of my book case and noticed that I OWN 4 Weight Watchers cookbooks! Hello new foods, good-bye boredom! One book that I have that I fell in love with is titled 5 Ingredient 15 Minute Cookbook. How much more easy could that get?? Okay the first recipe I tried was a HIT. EVERYONE liked it. Its nice to find something that we ALL can east rather than just making it for me and everyone else looking at me like I have a third eye.

Deep Dish Pizza Casserole

-1lb of ground round (I used the 95/5 ground)
-1 (15oz) Can of Italian style tomato sauce (I used the Italian style tomatoes and one can of paste)
-1 can of Refrigerated pizza crust dough
-1 1/2 cups pre-shredded mozzarella cheese

1. Preheat oven to 425
2. Brown meat (I added copped onions, etc and a shake of Tony's)
3. Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Press crust into bottom and halfway up sides of pan. Top bottom with meat mixture.
Here I added a layer of Turkey Pepperoni to give it an even pizza-ier taste)
4. Bake uncovered at 425 for 12 minutes. Top with cheese, and bake 5 minutes or until crust is browned and cheese melts. Cook 5 minutes before serving.
Cut into 6 servings. Points per serving 6.5 with the Pepperoni and 6 without.
It was so easy to make. 30 minutes from start to finish.
Kayla even liked it! Score, something I can make that is EASY and good for me too. And something that is NOT chicken. Even freaking better.

It is HomeComing at Morgan City High this week. And you can tell just by driving through the neighborhood. It's a big thing around here to TP houses of your fellow classmates. It's even a tradition believe it or not. Most parents even take part. I had no idea. Well that was until last night. There I was sitting on the couch watching Grey's, and I hear something outside. I run to the front door and swing it open to this.

And a mom at the mailbox saying 'SMILE RACHEL'. I have no clue who it was. So if this mom is reading this, please let me preview the photo before you put it anywhere. I'm sure I was looking at little funky for photos. I'm just saying, you could have warned me I would have posed or something. :) Kayla wasn't home when this happened. She was at the pep rally. When she came home you would have thought the child had won the lottery! She ran in the door screaming, 'I FINALLY GOT GOT! I FINALLY GOT GOT!'. Four years of high school, has brought us to this moment. THIS means you have arrived. So she asked if she could go back out and repay the favor. I'm thinking I may need to pick up some toilet paper before I go home tonight, just a hunch though.

Last night was weight in at Weight Watchers (you thought I forgot huh?). After last weeks .6 gain. (never ever ever eat boiled shrimp the night before weigh in). I was determined to get that off and get myself another 5lb star. I went to Curves Mon-Tue-Wen this week. This is the first time I have went 3 days in a row. And I have to admit I am totally lovin' it. I think my body is too. In other Curves new, Kathy is going to join Curves with me! Yeay!! I am so excited. I know she will love it as much as I do. And it will be nice to have someone that I know there when I am. Just know if we can talk to each other Kathy we are NOT working hard enough :) So I got to WW last night and weighed in *drum roll please* -3.4 Oh yeah! I was sooooooo excited! That brings my total to 20.8!!!!!! I am freaking amazed! I am so extremely proud of myself. This week totally renewed me. I know that I am doing what I should, even when I don't want to. I am NEVER going to give back this 20 lbs! NEVER. I also realized the shirt I wore to WW last night, should never been worn in public again. It's HUGE on me. I don't think I have ever been able to say that something is HUGE on me. It was a great night!

Oh I almost forgot (as I sit hear eating a Fiber One Bar...OMG so good). My sweet friend Kathy brought me the sweetest gift last night. She brought me one of those super cute Go Green bags so I could carry my grocery's back and forth to work in style, and inside was a pack of the 1 point hamburger buns that I have not been able to find ANYWHERE, a pack of yummy looking Egg Rolls (brought them for lunch today) and a couple Fiber One Bars. Thank you so much Kathy! I smiled and thought of you this morning packing my new bag. I totally love it and I can't wait for lunch!

New Wheels

Happy Hump Day Yall! Hope your week has been going good. Its close out week again here, I am not sure how the heck that happened so flipping fast! Hopefully this week won't drag on and on, we are pretty close to goal going in.

I wasn't able to get any new recipe's made this weekend, I was still recovering from the 2 weeks before. But I do have something to share. For my reward for reaching my 5% David bought me a bike! Ain't she a purty! I had to buy a new seat for her before I even brought her home, the original seat violated me to say the least! She is just missing a few things, for those of you who have me on your Christmas list you should get a pen and paper our now. I was informed by Kathy, that I am in need of some streamers, and a bell or some sort of horn. I would like BOTH, because some days you know you just feel like honkin' and some days you feel like ringin'. I do have a rear view mirror on it now, but the problem is I'm wider than the handle bars, so that poses a slight problem seeing AROUND myself. So I will be needing some of those extender bars, you know the ones I am talking about. You see them on U-hauls and stuff when they are pulling trailers behind them. One about 4 foot long should work like a charm. I also would like a basket to put on the front. When it cools off some, David and I plan on riding our bikes back and forth to work. I take way to much crap with me every day NOT to have a way to carry it around. Plus I think it would make it look cute!

This is where I would put some inspirational quote but since the powers a be at work have decided that we are no longer in need of having internet access what so ever, not even freaking Google, I do not have one handy for you. I will just leave you with the one that means the most to me:

IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES.

What you all have been waiting for!

Well as most of you know David spent last week in the hospital. Blech. Nothing like a week of stress and worry to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. He ending up having surgery last Friday morning. He has scar tissue removed from his lower intestine and bowels. And then a synthetic covering placed over them so that it would not adhere to there again. If you remember he had this same surgery last June. Here is where my freak out comes in. The DR said that some people just produce scar tissue, so I asked what the chances of it adhering to a different place and he said oh its already growing on his liver and spleen. Oh M Gee! Are you kidding me? We go back to the DR today to get his staples out. He had 9 staples, and from the looks of it they gave him an outtie belly button. LOL

Okay I now have two weeks worth of weigh in's to catch up on. Last week I went and was feeling kinda ewwy, I had spent 3 nights in the hospital with David and was not feeling very good about going to weight watchers at all. I wasn't eating much at all, for the fear of making the wrong choices. I wasn't able to make it to Curves all week either. I weighed in, and lost 1.8! I was totally happy with that, and glad to have that week behind me. After the weigh in I am down a total of 13.8 lbs not to shabby!

Let's fast forward to this week. David came home on Saturday and things were kinda sorta getting back to kinda normal. Monday was my weight and measure day at Curves, and let me just start out by saying THAT I LOATH THAT YOUNG CHIC AT THE DOOR. Tell me this, how can I GAIN 2 inches in my waist??? Did she not get the message that I LOST 13.8 lbs. Get this then she trys and to tell me that maybe its muscle. Baby, do you see this mass of JIGGLE? What on earth makes you think that muscle is squishy?? Show me your muscles. Do they squish too? So according to her WONKY measurements I have lost a total of 4 inches off of my body. I totally love the sound of that but think its totally wrong. I think she needs a doughnut, she would probably think much clearer with a doughnut in her belly. Ugg.

Wednesday was my official year anniversary at Cummins. We have a monthly luncheon and this time I decided to go. I got a 10kt gold bracelet with a gold Cummins C on it. I was very surprised. I love my job for the most part. I love the people that I work with, and enjoy the friendships, as unlikely as they seem that I have gained. Of course I have STRESS that comes with my job too. Between David being sick, some new changes at work and regular every day life, I have been having chest pains for a couple of days. It was so bad that I left work on Thursday to go see my DR. I had an Echo and a EKG and they both seemed normal. They are thinking I may have an ulcer. Oh joy! I go for a CAT scan today. They started me on Nexium to get me feeling better. Okay can I just say that I feel freaking OLD! I have never in my life had heart burn. I mean look at me, does it look like I have a real problem with ANY kind of food? Oy!

Okay NOW for the super exciting part of this whole dang post! I went to WW last night for another WI. I was really NOT wanting to go, I felt like crap, but I do not want to MISS anything. Every bit of information I get I feel I need. Well I approached the scale and told the lady that I wasn't expecting anything much, my tracking had been horrible the past couple of weeks, and she said, are you sure? Are you ready for this? -4.2 lbs!!!!!!! Holy batman! I almost cried! That's when I realized that I had reached my 5% goal! Are you kidding me?? In 6 short weeks I have lost a total of 18 lbs!!! I am so freaking proud of myself. I can totally feel the difference in myself on most days. My clothes are fitting looser. I have a couple shirts that I bought for our cruise this past June that are really too big to wear outside of the house! To celebrate I bought myself a prize last night, I purchased the fancy WW scale! Man this thing is amazing! When I got home to tell David you should have seen the smile on his face! After the DR's office today we are going to get my new bike! So if you see a fat chic riding around town on a shiney new pink bike that would be ME!

Now for what I promised you all. A couple weeks ago before my life went totally nuts-o I was telling you guys how I love to make new recipes and take pics of them. I told you guys about the YUMMY egg roll recipe. Egg Rolls I try and make them once a week. I love them that much. The last time I made them I took pictures of them. Here are the yummmmmmmmy photos!
While I was making these I was thinking what else I can make with the egg roll wrappers. You know those things at the Chinese restaurant with the cream cheese and the crab meat in them? You know the ones that I can normally eat 74 of? Yeah those? Well I made my own version of them too. I made 4 of them just to test them out. They ending up being 3 points for the 4 of them. I don't think that's too bad at all. And they were SOOOOO good. The next time I make them I will mix the cream cheese and stuff together and let the flavors mix together more. Here is what I used.

4 Wonton Wrappers
1 oz tub of Weight Watchers cream cheese-cut in 4 parts
1 oz of imitation crab meat
1 green onion
Canola cooking spray

This is what they looked like before I baked them:

And here they are right before they went into my belly!!

I have a couple more recipes I would like to try this weekend. I love trying new things and I love finding foods that I love that are healthy and that they fit into my new lifestyle.

Okay I think I have killed you all enough. I promise it wont be this long between posts any longer. As long as life stays the hell outta my way! I want to thank the people who have been so supportive of me since I have started this journey. I really feel that I can do this, this time. I am also thankful for the new friends I have met because of WW (*waving at K), and all the others that I don't know that I bond with every Thursday. Thanks beautiful people!

As well and a new recipe, and some pics of those kick ass egg rolls I made last week. Oh and an update on my weight loss. Oh man I bet you are on the edge of your seat aren't yah? See yah after Curves!

Mmmmm...Pumpkin Pie

Happy Sunday. My weekend is going pretty good. We are getting ready to go the Shrimp and Petroleum festival. Micheal is marching in the parade today. I hope I don't see any of those damn vendors selling that stuff that I LOVE. I plan on bringing a bag of frozen grapes with me so I'll stick to those. Will Power!

I got a Prevention magazine in the mail yesterday. I have been getting them for about a year and never really looked at it until this time. Dang it! It's full of interesting facts and articles about getting healthy. I'm really upset to find out that this is the last month I'll be getting it. Who would have thought that I would find a HEALTH magazine the least bit interesting! Whodathunkit! I even found a recipe in there and tried it last night. It was for Pumpkin Pies. I plugged the recipe into the recipe builder on E-tools and it calculated up to 2 points per serving. You make them in muffin pans, so they are portion controlled too! Whats not to love. Here is what they looked like.

And boy were they GOOD! I love trying new recipes and then taking pics of the results. So if you enjoy that sort of thing be on the look out for more of those type of photos. Here is the recipe if you are wanting to try these.

Pumpkin Pie Cups
WW Points: 2 per Cup

3 Tbsp Wheat Germ
2 Tbsp Ground Flax seed
2 1/2 Graham Cracker Sheets, crushed (I used low fat)
2 Eggs (could have used egg beaters to make lower in points)
15oz Can of Pumpkin (not the pie mix, just plain)
12oz Can Fat-Free Evaporated Milk
2/3 Cups Brown Sugar(could have used the brown sugar Splenda for lower points)
1 1/2 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Preheat oven to 375. Spray 12 Cup Muffin Pan with Canola Oil Cooking spray. In small bowl, combine wheat germ, ground flax seed and graham crackers. Add one heaping teaspoon of the mixture to each muffin cup. Whisk 2 eggs and stir in plain pumpkin, evaporated milk, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Pour evenly into cups. Bake 30-35 minutes or until sides are set and filling jiggles slightly. Serve with a dollop of Fat Free Cool Whip.

These will be made for Thanksgiving here at my house for sure. No one will know the difference I promise. They are so yummy. And according to the article, flax seed adds heart and brain healthy omega-3's, and the wheat germ boost vitamin E, which helps control blood sugar. How flipping cool is that?

I am totally loving my new healthy lifestyle. And that leads me into my quote for the day: “You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.” – Margaret Thatcher

Subway Eat Fresh

Hey yall! TGIF! I am soooo excited about my up coming 3 day weekend! I'm looking forward to relaxing and catching up on some Trashy TV Oh yeah!

Well last night was Thursday, and you know what that means....Weigh In Day. I am extremely happy to report that I am down another 2.2 bringing my total weight loss to 12 lbs! I can hardly believe it myself. I just knew I wasn't going to have a loss after Aunt Flo came and brought me CRAMPS! I was just hoping for .4 to get my second 5lb star but I went way past that!

My friend K lost the same. We are STILL neck and neck in pounds. Someone at the meeting joked that we were eating the same things! LOL So K got her 2nd 5 lbs star to, AND she got her 5% star too! Wooooooooooot!! WTG K! You are doing great girly!

I am still going strong with Curves. I even went Wednesday night when I had craps from hell, and the last thing I wanted to do was to work out. I'm glad I pushed through it. I plan on being there at 5 tonight with bells on. S from work has been going with me this week. Its been fun to have someone go with me. Shes been doing the trail week, I will find out if she plans on joining. I haven't added my walking in yet, with Aunt Flo visiting I haven't felt like doing much. I will work on that for next week.

I have been thinking about getting a bike, David said he would buy me one. I told him I needed the Granny one. Then he said I could pick between the Bike or the Wii Fit that I have been begging him for. Oh geeze! Now I have a choice I don't know which one I want. I actually want them BOTH but can only afford one right now. Decisions, decisions.

I better get going. Need to finish up some work before 5. I can't be late to Curves tonight they close at 6.

Some Relatives Just Suck!

Well woke up bright an early this morning to find Aunt Flo here. Blech! Don't get me wrong, having her is better than NOT having her, but now I just feel crappy. Usually the scale doesn't move when shes here. And I get cramps from hell. Oh joy, I have so much to look forward too. Yesterday was a pretty good day, every time I go to Curves I love it even more. I can feel the changes in my body too. I checked and found out that on the 10th of the month is my weigh and measure day at Curves. I can't wait to see how many inches I have lost and so a side by side look at when I started until now. Heck I might even post some pics. Oh yeah that got you excited didn't it! Bahahaha.

Looking forward to dinner tonight, David is slow grilling some chicken legs and wings. I love it when he cooks them like that. It makes them taste almost smoked. Yum-O.

Kayla drove to school for the first time yesterday. She did good, she stopped at a couple places and got job applications. I still can't believe how grown up she is. It's kinda scary.

Davids on call this week, I miss him being in the office with me when he is on call. But on the up side I do get yummy dinner.

Well Good Golly it's Been awhile!

I bet you thought I jumped ship didn't yah? Naaaa....Last week was close out week, need I say more! I love my paycheck the first week of the month but this week nearly kills me!

I do have to say I am EXTREMELY proud of myself. Let me tell you why. I clocked 79 hours this week (Oh Me Gee). And I had some crazy obstacles that I had to cross. Not only the crazy hours. But eating out every night (yeah I'm NOT kidding). Not only did I manage to say on plan, counted and planed every bite (thank you very much), but I also went to Curves 3 times this week too. Oh yeah baby, I did that! And fit in a WW meeting too.

That's where my really good news comes in, I am down 3.2 bringing my total to 9.8. Wooooooohooooooo Soooooo close to being another 5lb star. But no worries I will get that next week. My new buddy had an amazing weigh in too, and we are tied in total pounds. WTG K!

I have learned so much about myself this past week. I have learned that I DO have will power. All these years I said I didn't have any, I just didn't know how to connect with it. I am in the zone, I don't look too far into the future, I just tackle one day at a time. I find that I feel more in control this way. I feel more in control than ever before. I pray that I can keep this feeling and not let anyone or anything take it away from me.

I have also learned that Weight Watcher math SUCKS! Let me quickly explain why, lets say you are going to eat a 1 point Sugar Free pudding cup (they are sooooo yummy) it's one point. But lets say you are really craving it and want to eat 2. Well if you eat both of them you are now up to 2.5 points. I know right! What the heck? I was always taught that 1 + 1=2, but not in WW world. I learned this the hard way, by just tracking in a note book, and not online with E-tools. I had been eating at least 5-10 points a day OVER. I know it didn't really hinder my weight loss yet, but I want to do this correctly so that I am in control of how things go.

Oh and I also learned that you actually have mussels in your stomach. Yeah! I know...I can't imagine what they look like under all this wiggle, but I know when I push extra hard at Curves like I did last week I can feel them in there. I can't wait to see what they really look like. So exciting for me. I also noticed Friday that a couple of the machines weren't so hard to get out of as they were before. I didn't totally feel like a bug on my back trying to get out of them! You know that feeling, where you can't move you are just flapping around like a fish outta water. Yeah that's normally me. That made me feel really good.

I am hoping to add my Walk Away the pounds DVD this week, on the days that I don't go to Curves. I freaking HATE walking but at least this is inside and I can blow the fan on me.

I think that pretty much catches me up till now. I will not be posting what I ate every day from now on. I am keeping track online and it seems to be working better for me. I will be posting if I try something new or eat something extra yummy.

Parents, and fish, and shopping OH MY!

Well this weekend was tons of fun. It was nice to have my parents in. Saturday David and my dad fished all day. From the sounds of it the water was a little bit rough, thank gawd I stayed on land. They came home with a boat full of fish so all in all I think it was worth it. Mom and I shopped a little bit, we had Kayla with us and we went to eat at Subway. Mmmm....Subway eat fresh. Sunday David and Dad took the kids tubing, I have been feeling kinda crappy so I didn't want to go. So of course Mom and I went shopping again! I don't know what it is about us two, but we can shop, even when the two of us have NO money.

I didn't really track this weekend, but I was very good, and mindful of what I ate. I'm sure that I stayed within my points and maybe even under on Sunday. I was sad to see the weekend end. I miss spending time with my mom. And I think my dad really enjoyed the weekend too. He gave David his seal of approval on his boat. So that's good.

This week is close out week at work AKA HELL week. We work until usually 12 every night then turn around and be back at 8 to do it all again. Blech. I did manage to get my Curves in yesterday tho. I took my lunch at 4:00 and went and worked out and was back here by 5:00. I could never do that during the day at lunch. I sweat way too much, it was a good thing that there was only a few of us left at work. I know I looked like ewww.

A couple of the gals at work are working WW with me. I'm so excited. I love all the support they are giving me, and its nice to be able to talk about what is so important to me right now. I can't wait until we are all hot mama's. Well hot healthy mama's! (because we are already hot)

You Gonna Eat That?

I hate how some times you feel like you are on the right track, then you realize that you should have taken that last left turn! I had a really good week, I added exercise 3 times a week, been getting all my healthy food guidelines in, but still found myself falling short in my points a couple nights this week. Well my weight loss showed it. I was down 1.2 lbs this week. Don't get me wrong that is very good, I was just hoping for a bigger number. I think all of the components mashed all together and got all messed up. Sooooooooooooo, this week one of my mini goals is to weigh and measure everything with my digital scale. Two do Curves 3 times this week (that's going to be very hard with it being close out week). And my 3rd goal is to use the check marks in my food tracker to make for certain that I am getting those HF in.

I connected with a very sweet gal at my WW meeting tonight. She started the same night I did and we have chatted a couple times in the past 2 weeks. Tonight we kinda hit it off. We have a lot in common and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better and cheering her on, on her journey too!

My parents are coming for the weekend this weekend. I am looking forward to spending some time with my mom. David and my dad are going fishing Saturday and we have the whole day together. We will probably take the kids tubing Sunday. I pray that I can have the will power to stick to the program.

Day from Hell....Times 428

Okay yesterday just sucked major ass.

There is not a nicer way to put it at all. Some times working with David really has it's downs. Because if either he or I are in a bad mood, we can't just NOT be around each other. I mean we work together, what am I gonna do hide in the bathroom all freaking day? Yeah that's what I mean. Anyways, I'm not really sure who's mood set the day off but it was off. And I do me OFF. I really hate days like that so much. So I go and pick up Kayla, yesterday was the day that she went to get her drivers license. Well that went horribly wrong, UG! So now I have another freaking mood in the mix. So she didn't pass, I'm pretty sure it was nerves, I will take her back tomorrow to try it again. Tomorrow will be a better day. It has GOT to be. So needless to say, the Donald house was NOT a place you wanted to be last night, there was a lot of hollering, a lot of crying, a lot of attitudes flying. And this morning we have come to this conclusion.....Micheal is the ONLY person in the family that is not in need of some sort of mental medication. And that's all I am gonna say about that.

Today was much better, still kinda awkward at work with David and I the first half of the day, I was determined NOT to speak. Well crap who am I kidding, I we freaking WORK together. So its all over and we are all hunky dorey and fine.

Back to me, because lets face it, that's the real reason you are here anyways. LOL I went to Curves tonight! Wooooooooot, I meet my mini goal that I set for myself worked out 3 times this week. Go me! Go Me! I hope that the scale is nice to me tomorrow night. I am already feeling better. I know I can do this! I just know it.

Happy Monday Yall!

Today was a pretty good day. It wasn't as stressful as most Monday's usually are. That was a great break! I planned my meals out for the day. And I think I was pretty happy with that. I will try and do that more often. I had a great lunch, I found some small bagels that are so yummy for 2 points, a wedge of laughing cow cheese, and two Canadian bacon slices. It was yummy with a capitol Y.

I went to Curves again today. I am so proud of myself. My goal for this week is two go 3 times (I'm counting my weeks Thursday to Thursday since those are the days I weigh in). Two down one more to go. I really love the way I feel when I finish. Like I have
accomplished something. I look forward to the next time already.

I am really feeling good about myself. I know its only been 11 days, but I am feeling strong that this time I can do this. I can feel my body changing already. It can only get better from here.

I love it when I sweat so hard my hair gets wet.

Oh yeah you heard me. That was me that said that. I had to go grocery shopping today since yesterday was a total bust. So Kayla and I got up and were going to go super early. Well David had different plans. He needed to get the truck fixed and we had to run and get the parts first. I let Kayla drive home from Rouses and she did great! She is supposed to get her license tomorrow. Watch out world here she comes LOL Anyways we finally got to Wal-Mart and I got my hair cut before we shopped. Geeze Wal-Mart on a Sunday. That is just full of wrong things. Finally got done and got it home now to unpack the stuff. Talk about a work out.

Our grass guy quit on us after doing our grass for over 2 years. He is now teaching at the High School. Good for him. Not so good for us. I found him by accident, I don't even know where to look for another guy. So we borrowed J and T's lawn mower. I told David that I would mow it. Well I mowed just a
litte less than half. David actually helped me alot. Baby steps people! The old me would have strained a mussel laughing at the thought of mowing the damn grass. I think we will save the money we pay the grass guy and I'll do it. I hope that I can build myself up and do it all soon.

Tomorrow is Monday.
Blech. The only good thing is that its my Curves day. Yippy. This weekend I kinda slacked on my eating. I know that is NOT a good think. With all the exercise I did I should have actually ate more than my normal points. I will have to make it a point to eat all of them this week, and maybe some flex to make up for it.

Curves is the only thing that went right!

Well today started out great. I dropped Kayla off at her driving class. (which she passed with a 100...You go Girl), and I headed to Curves. I got my work out in and had some time to kill. Headed to Walgreen's and picked up a few school supplies that the kids still needed. Pick up Kayla and went to the produce stand with T and J. On the way back and I called David and he said I need you to kind hurry and get back, I think Micheal may have broke his finger. He needs to go to the hospital. So I get my car and fly to the boat landing and pick Micheal up. His hand is like triple the size and already turning blue. Sheesh. So off we went to the ER 4 hours later and we are home. He has a splint on his hand and has to keep it iced for 24 hours. What totally sucks is that he just made first chair in band. Now he can't even play. I will be calling the school and seeing whats going to happen with that. Lordy B. All that and I haven't even gotten my grocery shopping done yet. So much for a laid back Sunday.

Friday Night Sushi

TGIF People! I can't stress that enough. Geeze. I am very upset. I had every intention of going to Curves tonight after work, well of course a repeat of last night BUT WORSE. Nothing bothers me more, than when I have plans to have to work late. I totally get having to do it, but it seems the only time I have to is when I have other plans. So I didn't get out of work until 6:30. Curves closes at 7pm so it was a no go tonight. But I promise to be there right after I drop Kayla off at driving school in the morning. David and Micheal are going fishing, so after Curves I have the day to myself. I was going to go grocery shopping but I think I will come home and make some tiles and resin pieces. :)

David took me out for Sushi to celebrate my loss last night. We also had some celebrating for Micheal too. He came home today to tell us he has made first chair in band! WooooooooHooooooooo! I am so proud of him. He is so talented. Must take after his momma! LOL

Better get going. I want to plan my meals for the next week so that I don't over spend at the grocery store tomorrow. And I'm BEAT!

Winner! Winner Chicken Dinner.

Well tonight was my first weigh in, and I almost didn't freaking make it! Of course I had to be some where so the bottom fell out at work. Of course at 4:55 something needed to be done YESTERDAY. No pressure at all, and of course everything I touched went to crap. At one point in my panic I even deleted the whole freaking job! Oh yeah I'm that girl. Anyways. Finally got done and flew out the door to my meeting. Got there in plenty of time. Phew! So it got to be my turn and oh yeah baby I'm a winner. 5.4 Pounds. GO ME! I am so happy. This week was really good, I hope I have many many more like it.

I even seen two girls that were at Curves last night there. And one of them has lost 15 pounds already. That is awesome! Hopefully that will be something to push me to go more. It's so nice to have others that are on the same page as you.

I am looking forward to tomorrow's Curves visit.

Curves Didn't Kill Me!

Not that I really thought it would. LOL But you know just in case there was ever a doubt, it won't kill you. I makes you sweat like you are about to...but just when you are on the brink of falling over it lets you go home. And let me just tell you...I feel fan-freaking-tastic! I totally forgot how good I feel when I get done. Like I accomplished something. I am actually looking forward to Friday when I go back. I kinda snuck on the scale while I was there, I know, I know but I was just checking. I won't post here lets just say I am very excited about going to WW and weighing in. I have stayed OP all week and I wrote every bite.

Speaking of that. This week has been a week of first for me. This is the first time that I went to WW on a Thursday and started OP the very next day. Usually I wait to 'start fresh on Monday'. I am so proud of myself for that one. Also this is the first time in YEARS that I actually wrote every single bite I took. I even kept track over the weekend. GO ME!!! Okay heading to bed. I want tomorrow night to hurry up and get here.

Egg Roll Heaven...Stuffed to the Gills.

Today was a pretty good day. It went by pretty fast and I had the most wonderful dinner. I was clicking around Hungry Girl's web site and found a recipe for some Egg Rolls, the recipe sounded really easy so I copied it to try for later. Well David cooked Tator Tot Casserole for dinner and I knew I should stay away from that so I went after I picked up Kayla from school to get the stuff I needed to make them and a couple other simple recipes I found on her awesome site.

Here is the recipe:
6 large square egg roll wrappers (found in the refrigerated section of the supermarket with the other Asian items)
4 cups (about half of a 12-oz. bag) dry coleslaw mix
One 6-oz. can (4 oz. drained) tiny shrimp, drained
1/2 cup canned water chestnuts, drained and sliced into strips
1/4 cup bean sprouts, chopped
2 scallions, chopped
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced width wise
2 tbsp. light or low-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp. crushed garlic
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. salt
dash pepper
Optional: sweet & sour sauce, for dipping

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Place slaw mix in a microwave-safe bowl with 2 tbsp. of water, cover, and microwave for 2 minutes. Drain any excess water, and transfer slaw mix to a large bowl. Add all other ingredients except for the wrappers, mix well, and set aside. Prepare a large baking sheet by spraying it lightly with nonstick spray.

Evenly distribute about 1/2 cup of the mixture onto each wrapper, in a row a little below the center. Moisten all four edges of each wrapper by dabbing your fingers in water and going over the edges smoothly.

Repeat process with remaining wrappers and filling, making sure you have a clean, dry surface each time.

Spray the tops of the egg rolls with nonstick spray. Bake in the oven for 25 - 30 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly.

MAKES 3 SERVINGS

These things were AWESOME. I put in all the ingredients over on the WW site recipe builder just to make sure how many points it was, it was 10 points total. So I ate every single one of them. I am so stuffed but dang they were good. They were very easy to make too.

I got such nice emails from my family today about my blog. They always support me so much. I really hope that this time I can do this and not disappoint them. Who know by the next time we all get together we may need name tags! LOL

Well tomorrow is the big day. I head back to Curves. I am looking forward to it, and I'm dreading it. I know I love the way it makes me feel, and I KNOW I need it, I just don't like the extremely young girl they have working the counter in the evenings. Don't get me wrong, shes plenty nice enough, but I am just not comfortable with myself let alone to go in there in front of a 19 year old that looks like she could use a doughnut or 5. But I am gonna put that away and get in there and sweat my hiney off. Sweat some of this fat off. Wish me luck.

Monday Madness!

Monday's always suck at work. There are a million and one things to to, and a million and one people to do them for. No one needs anything until its time for me to do payroll. Besides being a crappy day like any other Monday, it was a great day for being OP. I did not eat eggs for breakfast and I could totally tell. They seem to fill me up for longer. I think I will make sure to have them every day. I ate Weight Control Oatmeal and a cup of D's fruit salad. Tomorrow will be a better day for sure. I went to Curves and got weighed and measured. Blech that was NOT fun. According to the print out, I have gained 30 freaking pounds since the last time I was there which was January of 2007. Whatever. All that matters is that today I am on track and tomorrow I will be too. I start back at Curves on Wednesday. I really am looking forward to it. Take Control! Get a hold of your life. DO IT NOW!

8/6/09
Okay, I've heard it said before. Hitting rock bottom. This has got to be what that feels like. What have I done to myself? Why the hell have I let myself get this way? How many times have I said I am fat and happy? Oh please! Even I can't believe that anymore. I pray to god that this is the time. I fear if it's not, I will be dead by the time I am 40. How can I know that I am not healthy, but do nothing about it? How can I continue to to be a disappointment to myself and my family? Please give me the strength I need to do this, this time. Please.

Well today was good. I told many people at work that I am working on me. The more that know the more accountable that will make me. I really would love to look back on this day and say it was the first day of the rest my life. T and J are on this journey with me. That will really help me at work. But I can not depend on other people. I have to depend on me. David has always been a huge supporter of mine. I can't wait to look into his eyes and show him that I am not a total failure, and that I can finish what I start for once in my life. Please god let me do this.

So much to do so little time to plan. I have been craving Sushi, I have been reading and it seems very point friendly. It was so good. After all that shopping we came home and then I went back to grocery shop. I feel alot better with a stocked pantry and everything I need to succed at my finger tips.
